This exhibition traces the brief history of crazy quilts in the 1880s and 1890s in the context of the period’s increasing industrialization and explores how women expressed their creativity, fashionability, needlework skills, and ideas in this unique style of quilt. It further draws connections between Victorian crazy quilts and 20th-century fashion and abstract art.
